Power Coaching Women onto Boards

An event hosted by Professionelle

A Professionelle first - POWER COACHING WOMEN ONTO BOARDS!

In association with AUT Business School

If you are a professional woman who is interested in getting started or moving to the next phase in your own career as a Director, Professionelle has designed a unique event just for you.

Members: remember to log in for your discount!

We've heard from numerous women that they have made some progress in their own careers as Directors but are now feeling 'stuck'.  They've also told us that it's hard to get substantive advice, which is both practical and honest, from a trusted source.

So, in true Professionelle fashion, we've created a specially tailored event just for you.  We are honoured to have three experienced and accessible women directors to share their own experiences with you:

  • Rebecca Thomas, CEO of Mint Asset Management and a Director of the FMA and Kiwi Rail.
  • Adrienne Young-Cooper, a professional director.  Her present directorships include Water Front Auckland, Solid Energy New Zealand Limited, Maritime New Zealand, Housing New Zealand Corporation (Deputy Chair) and the Hobsonville Land Company Limited (Chair)
  • Maury Leyland, Director of Strategy for Fonterra, as well as a Director of Telecom and TrustPower

This unique event was made possible by the generosity of AUT Business School and is limited to only 30 participants. You will not only get to hear from these three women about their own experiences and views, you will also get the opportunity to showcase yourself to them.   They will do their best to give quick and actionable feedback about what YOU should/could do in order to progress your own board career.

The nuts and bolts:

We ask that you come prepared with your three-minute elevator speech answering the following questions:

  • What you currently do?
  • Why you are interested in boards?
  • What you believe you have to offer boards?
  • What you perceive or have actually experienced as the factors that are holding you back?

We will do our best to ensure everyone gets a chance at their elevator speech, but we might not be able to.  In any case, in the drinks after the formal session you will have your opportunity to ask the panel members for their feedback.

If you'd like to attend but don't necessarily want to participate in the power coaching,  please e-mail galia@professionelle.co.nz

We expect to have some robust and stimulating discussions!
